Who says you can't get something for nothing? Denver Urban Gardens debunks the notion with its Free Seeds and Transplants Program. Denver residents who meet low-to-moderate income guidelines can receive free vegetable seeds and transplants. Applications are available at 35 sites (recreation  centers, churches and senior citizen centers) throughout Denver. To locate the nearest distribution center, call DUG at 303.292.9900.

The application deadline for 2008 has passed. Applications for the 2009 program will be available in December 2008 and January 2009.

The Seeds and Transplants Program is funded, in part, by a grant from Denver Housing and Neighborhood Development Services, and operated by DUG. Last year, over 4,000 residents were served by this program.
